God is Always With Us

Deuteronomy 31:6

Bible Verse

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid. For the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

Reading Notes

There is no where we can go where God can't find us and be with us. This is one of the attributes of God and it's called His omnipresence. This does not refer to an impersonal force, God is not "in" everything; rather this refers to a very real and personal presence of God. Like having another person beside us, God is always with us. In addition, each and every believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit who carries out God's work of sanctification within us. As Christians this should be a comfort to us, knowing God is always with us. God will never forsake us and He will never leave us. The message in the passage above was given to the Israelites as they prepared to enter the Promised Land. God had been with the people, God had fought for them as well as sustained them through the wilderness.

And now as they were about to enter the Promised Land, God reassured the people that He would always be with them. God promised that He would never forsake the people, and the same is true for us as well. All those who have placed their faith in Christ, will not be forsaken. Moreover, because of our faith in Jesus, God is with us always. Whenever trouble or trials arise, we can count on God to be there to guide us, comfort us and give us understanding and help. This doesn’t mean bad things won't happen to us, but it does mean God is there with us through the trials. Just as God led the Israelites through the wilderness, the Holy Spirit can lead us in our daily walk with Christ. However, we remember this doesn't mean trials and tribulation won't occur; but it does mean God is there with us through the trials. And it means no matter what we experience here in this world, what awaits us in the future, is so much better than we can imagine today!
